Extended Bio
Ostraka is a Dundee-based metal band, formed in 2024. Jamie Butler (drums) had known Colin Cramb (guitar) since childhood, but things took off when Gavin Duncan (guitars/ vocals) and George Connor (bass) were added to the lineup. Remarkably, all four are teachers in Scottish state schools. The four quickly developed their unique sound and began writing original material almost immediately.
In 2025, Ostraka issued their first music: Magistri, which was received well by fans, but with excitement from critics. In support of Magistri, Ostraka have toured Scotland, creating a loyal following.
Ostraka continue to write and record new music and are currently honing songs which will form their next release. The band’s mix of heavy riffs, hummable melodies, and off-beat arrangements, combined with explosive live performances have made them a go-to band for bookers and promoters of metal in Scotland.
